Specifications

Hull
Construction under supervision of Germanischer Lloyd. GRP laminate, hand laid up incorporating Kevlar Fibre, with no balsa core below the waterline. Gelcoat in isophalic acid polyester resin, finished in 3 coats of two pack paint.
One piece hull/deck moulding incorporating an aluminium frame and galvanised steel stringers as reinforcements for mast and keel support.

Deck & coachroof
Sandwich construction with end grain balsa for durability and insulation. Aluminium tubing and additional reinforced backing plates are laminated under the deck to give optimum strength. Hull and Deck are bonded together into a homogenous unit at an early stage in the mould by means of broad laminate strips a typical Dealer feature at the time.

Colours
Hull Ice White, decorative stripes in grey, anti slip grey.

Keel
Low centre of gravity ballast keel is in cast iron primed with 3 coats of epoxy. The keel is fastened to the hull with steel bolts.

Rudder
The elliptical balanced rudder has a sea water proof solid aluminium stock recently upgraded with a curved aluminium strengthening frame. The stock is mounted on the hull with multiple new nylon bearings.

Cockpit
Spacious self draining T shaped cockpit with ergonomically shaped sills and comfortable water resistant new foam cushions in sunbrella. large stern stage for a life raft with two large lazarettes either side.

New deck Mounted Rocna 25 on an electric windlass, with foot switches.

Hatches & windows
Opening Lewmar hatches over fore peak and main cabin. Saloon windows in tinted acrylic with aluminium frames. 8 opening ports are installed in the aft cabins, heads and changing area.

Mast & boom
Silver anodised aluminium mast and boom, 2 pairs of spreaders, WINDEX wind indicator, Boom Vang and internal halyards. The mast is constructed with 2 chambers, making supplementary insertion for extra lines much easier.

Rigging
Standard rigging in DYFORM steel wire cable, 1×19 with low stretch and high breaking strain. Backstay jammer and tensioner. The remaining running rigging is a mix of PERION and Nylon, Blocks in aluminium .@ reefs operable from the cockpit. The first of Dehlers quick reef system. The mainsheet is operated from the central Electric mainsheet winch. All halyards and sail controls lead back to the cockpit.

Sails
All high Quality US Dacron cross cut Main and Roller Furling Genoa. Main 36.8m2 . The main has a luff groove slide. The foot is fitted with a bolt roper. The main drops into a main drop system for ease of stowage.

Deck equipment
2 x Lewmar 43 2-speed Genoa sheet winches.
2 x Lewmar 40 2-speed halyard winches.
1 x Centre Electric Lewmar winch.
6x halyard jammers.
Turning blocks at the mast foot for leading the halyards to the winches in the cockpit. Shroud chain plates, fore and backstay mountings in stainless steel.
Pulpit, pushpin (with love seats) and stanchions all marine grade stainless steel.
Pulpit fold down boarding ladder.
Wheel steering with large stainless wheel.
Sensitive steering transmission through a bevel wheel gearing with solid connecting rod to the rudder quadrant.
2 stroke bilge pump (manual) operated from the cockpit.

Interior

Main cabin, navigation station and galley in varnished mahogany. Fold- away navigation chair. Lockers for charts and panel for instruments and VHF radio etc.

Galley
STORM FORCE 10, gimballed 3 burner stove and oven, food stowage lockers. Additional lockers beneath companionway steps.

Cabins
2 identical aft cabins with double berths, seat hanging locker and cupboards. Ahead of the starboard cabin is a head with basin and locker, ahead of the port cabin a shower / wet room with basin and locker.
Fore cabin with double berth, lift up stowage and lockers. All supplied with night lighting and fans.

Water & gas
Water tank capacity 350 litres, electric pressure pump, supply to galley and both washrooms.. Galley gas installation including aluminium gas storage bottle.

Systems

Electrics
12 volt system, 2 x 99 amp batteries and one separate 12v starting battery. Navigation lights, deck working light. Switch panel with with current breakers 12v socket, clock, fuel and water gauges. Shore power 240v with double socket. LED navigation lights. Shore power 240v with double socket and Victron battery charger.

Engine
2015 BETA B 30 diesel engine in noise insulating housing under the main cabin table giving 360 degrees access to the engine. Aqua drive shaft with new 2 blade folding propeller. Diesel tank capacity approx 90 litres. Engine instrument panel in the cockpit.

Extras

The yacht comes with a full cover in sunbrella, cockpit folding table, cutlery, plates etc.. Beta servicing kit. Fire extinguishers and fire blankets. Stereo system with speakers in cabin and in cockpit.

Recent improvements

– New LED navigation lights (bow and stern, tricolor and anchor light, all Hella Marine Naviled Pro)
– New shore power electrical installation with electrical panel for 220V, two positions
– One position has a Victron battery charger installed (Victron Energy Blue Smart IP22 12/30(3))
– Other position is unused, was intended for shore power AC installation
– Lifelines replaced in 2020, lower lifelines dyneema, upper lifelines steel wire (so one can hang fenders off it)
– New fenders, new high quality mooring lines
– New long marinco shore power cable
– New toilet pump
– New UK Sails lazy cradle in late 2019, including new rails on the boom.

The Boater’s Notes

Whilst built in late 1988 Bellatrix was not commissioned until late 1990, she was the class winner of the Kings Cup (Thailand) and has offshore cruised to Thailand and the Philippines spending four years there, before returning to Hong Kong with her second owner. Her third owner (2003-2018) were four time winners of the HHYC Boxing day race.
